About us
In the 1960s and 1970s, God's Spirit moved as a fresh wind among the churches in a visitation termed the Charismatic Renewal. Many were touched within and outside the organized churches. Fresh, dynamic vision and gifts of the Holy Spirit were restored to the church, reminiscent of Peter's statement in Acts 3:21: "He (Jesus) must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets." God has begun restoring!
It was in this spirit that many of us rediscovered the power and simplicity of the gospel in the house church pattern. The basic unit of the church is the family and the fellowship that meets in the home. In Acts 2:46 scripture says, "Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts . . ." So the pattern is "in the temple courts" and "house to house" Large meeting, small meeting.
In our house churches we meet house to house weekly, sharing a meal, studying the Bible, sharing our lives, praising and praying. Of great importance is the care of God's people. Each house church has a pastor who is responsible for the care and protection of his "family." Then, once or twice monthly the "churches" or families come together in corporate meeting for worship and hearing the Word.
Because church is in a different place doesn't mean it is automatically right or good. We must still seek our salvation with "fear and trembling" through God "who works within us" (Philipians 2:11). Our emphasis is on individual relationships, with godly character and loyalty the aims. Our home fellowships are located in central Louisiana.
Inspired by the Lord's calling, we aim:
• to spread the word of forgiveness and life in Jesus Christ
• to fulfill the Great Commission to "disciple the nations," one person at a time,
helping believers to grow and learn through mutual support and care
• to live out covenant with one another as our Father has covenanted with us
• to be a good neighbor to people in need
• to be sensitive to our Lord to carry out His commands so that His Kingdom may come "in earth as in heaven"
